Class Details

A Blue Moon Holiday tradition continues into it's 8th year! Join us and learn how to blow German style glass ornaments. Each student receives 10 glass tubes that you fill with colorful crushed glass frit, then heat the glass tube in the flame, then blow. It might take a little practice but after you have blown a few, you will end up with some lovely one-of-a-kind ornaments to keep or give as presents. After time in the kiln, your handmade ornaments will be ready to pick up the next day. No previous experience required, but you must be at least 13 years of age (with a parent in attendance). 10 Ornaments and hangers included. A 2 hour class can be setup Mondays through Saturdays, daytime and evening. Just call us at 512-380-0770 and let us know your time and/or day of the week preferences, and we will schedule a class for you. You can get your own group of 6 together, or we can place you in a group already scheduled.

The Pickle Report

The Glass Blown Ornaments class at Blue Moon Glassworks was really fun and left us feeling super accomplished! We went in hoping that maybe one of our ornaments would turn out ok enough to hang on the back of the tree, but left with 10 front of tree ornaments that people compliment all the time! Plus we got to play with fire and molten glass...

Great holiday class, even better as a couple!

5/5 stars - Mike | January 1, 2020

Had a blast blowing glass with my wife. The night we went it was just us and another couple, but the teacher explained it fills up fast during the holidays, so definitely get your reservation when you can! The small class size is great because of the attention you get from the teacher. Our teacher spent a lot of time with us, very open to answering questions, and having fun! We blew 10+ ornaments, including 3 or 4 variations - one was a mold!
